Winter is Coming

Here in Berwick-Upon-Tweed it sure feels like winter is just around the corner, the leaves are turning and the wind is blowing thanks to Ophelia. That said, it's a good time of year to cosy up in your favourite coffee bar with a flat white in one hand and your favourite book in the other.

Autumn is also a great time of year to reflect on the year so far, not to mention the year ahead which is looming all too close. For us at Northern Edge Coffee, we're reflecting on our growing range of blends and the support we've received from our loyal customers.

This Friday 20th October we will be serving our coffee and helping the guys at Hemmelvaart Bier Cafe raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. If you are in the north east of England it would be great if you could pop along to support this charity event. There will be coffee, cakes, a raffle and lots more on offer so it promises to be a great morning.

Our limited roast El Salvador has been proven to be a success with limited stocks left. Looking ahead, we are thinking of what to roast next as the El Salvador is superb and will be hard to beat! We are thinking of perhaps trying some lovely Rwandan coffee as we cupped a beautiful bean last month with our importer Riley from Falcon sepciality.

Since we started roasting on our new Probat roaster last month we have noticed a huge positive difference in our coffee. We now have more consistency, texture, flavour and scent.
